About Us
Shiloh is a church with a rich history, a great heritage and a bright future.

Original Bell from old church (Bell made in 1894)

The church was begun in 1863 right in the middle of the Civil War.  As a matter of fact all of the original members were women.  It is suspected this is the case due to many of the men being away involved in the war.

The church has been in the current location since 1904.  The former worship center was moved to the that spot in that same year.

Through the years the church has had some pastors that have stayed a long time.  The pastor just previous to the current pastor served the church twice and the last time for 26 years.  His name was Jack Johnson.  Pastor Johnson has now gone home to be with the Lord but served  a number of churches in the Franklin County Baptist Association.

Some of the church members have been members their entire lives.  Some of them were born during a time in which their parents already belonged to the church and they were brought as a small baby, were baptized into the church as a youth, were married in the church, had children of their own, they grew up in the church, were baptized and so forth.

The church has a heritage of serving the Lord, the community and those that need Jesus.  It also has a great story of God's amazing work in the building of the new building.

People's lives are changed because of God's work through Shiloh Baptist Church.  There are people that have become believers in Jesus Christ, have been baptized and are growing in their faith.  It's a wonderful thing to see and experience.

It's also a place where you can be you and be accepted for who you are.  We are not formal.  We don't have a lot of ritual.  We are relaxed, dress casually and have lots of fellowship time.

You are invited to be a part of what God is doing at Shiloh.  Join us this Sunday.

Music

We believe music is a way to express our worship of God.  The words express our hearts just as surely as the preaching and other method of worship.  When it comes to music, Shiloh is full of talented people who enjoy using their talents for the Lord.  It is not required to be trained, no how to read music or be polished to be a part of our music ministry.  Our music ministry is for those that love the Lord and desire to make a joyful noise.  The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m.

If you would be interested in being involved in the music ministry at Shiloh please click here and send an email to our choir director, Angela Scott, for more information on how to become involved.

Unclouded Day
Unclouded Day is a group of muscians that are all members of Shiloh.  The group consists of (from right to left) David Roemer, Mike Baker, Robert (Papa) Rector and Henry Winters.  The group has played at church for another church picnic and recently at a local school.  The group does a great job and does mostly Gospel and bluegrass music.  The photo was taken at Round Up Sunday.

What are they saying about Shiloh?

Shiloh is the most loving church I have ever attended.  For much of my life a strayed away from God.  About 15 years ago I discoverd Shiloh and immediately, the first Sunday felt at home.  I knew I needed to get back in church and back in line with what God wanted for my life.  I have loved every minute of it.  I encourage you to find your home at Shiloh too.

I love Shiloh.  I never went to church before but one of my friends at school invited me to come.  It was great.  John (the youth pastor) is cool.  He teaches us about things we are interested in and tells us straight.  I went to Dare2Share and gave my heart to Jesus.  I was baptized and am now trying to live for Jesus.  It's great.
